“Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.” – T.S. Elliot
The older I get, the more people I have said goodbye to. It’s been a tough past few years as I have lost several loved ones. Please indulge my escape.
Losing the ones you love is so tough.
You will see them through tear-filled eyes in the places you shared. You will hear their voice in familiar places and be shocked when you don’t find them.
You will feel them, always feel them, in your heart at these times. And you will know that they aren’t gone because they are a part of who you are, and who you will become.
Their memories bind your heart and heal the brokenness. Real loss doesn’t occur, because knowing them and loving them is gain.
I really can’t write any more at this point, although I have so much more to say. With loss comes sadness. I’m thankful for the comfort of happy memories. I also wish you the best in times like this. I pray the memories of you loved ones stay with you, and mend your broken heart.
